The Vintage trend
Authenticity and nostalgia for the past… for some years now, objects predating the 1980s have attracted interest in both the fashion sector and as interior design accessories.

In the fashion sector, in creating the images presenting her Autumn-Winter 2009-2010 collection, Isola Marras was clearly inspired by “vintage” items, immersing them in this melancholic and innovatory spirit.

In the music sector, the Vintage theme was used in the video clip of Cesare Cremonini’s song “Figlio di un re” where in a skilful animation the people in tight-waisted clothes and bell bottom trousers in the old discoloured photographs come back to life, together with old illustrations and period objects.
On its Eco-Vintage stand at Cersaie 2009, the International Exhibition of Ceramic Tile and Bathroom Furnishings, Novoceram used distinctive iridescent fabrics to cover the outside walls, while the interior, designed as a surreal wood, was dotted with period furniture and old objects found in second-hand markets throughout Italy and France.
For all creators and lovers of period objects, Vintage has found its Exhibition. On 14 and 15 November 2009 the fourth edition of the Vintage Exhibition will take place at 180 Boulevard Saint Germain 180, Paris. Previous editions (February and September 2008 and April 2009) were held in very unusual places.
This year the theme is “the past revisited”, perfectly expressing this Vintage spirit. The 50 exhibitors expected at the event will present furniture dating from the years between 1920 and 1980, all revisited and reinterpreted in an original manner.
